Parramatta’s hooker Tallyn Da Silva could face a spell on the sidelines after receiving a sin bin during the match against Manly due to an incorrect tackle.
As the match at Brookvale Oval began to slip away from the Eels in the 60th minute, Jake Simpkin exited the hooker position and, unfortunately, Da Silva tipped him past the horizontal.
“This tackle has gone awry, disastrously wrong,” commented Brenton Speed during the broadcast on Nine.
Billy Slater offered his insight, noting that the timing of Da Silva’s lift contributed to the unnatural angle of the tackle.
“This can occur when you lift someone improperly while the momentum is swinging against you… he didn’t have to lift, but he found himself in an awkward position,” Slater remarked.

Andrew Johns remarked that the incident was purely accidental, right before referee Peter Gough showed Da Silva the bin.
“It’s the correct decision, but it’s not a send-off,” he added.
At that point, Manly was ahead 23-6, with winger Jason Saab scoring just two minutes after Da Silva’s exit.

The Eels managed to respond with a try from Mitchell Moses while down to 12 players, but once they were back to full strength, the Sea Eagles struck again with a try from Clayton Faulalo.
Eels prop Charlie Guymer rounded off the scoring following a clever assist from Da Silva. The match concluded with a score of 33-18.
Manly’s impressive second half followed a balanced first half, which ended with a Jamal Fogarty field goal right on the siren, putting the teams at 7-6.
The match review committee will have a busy night ahead, as three players have been put on report. Besides Da Silva, Moses faces a potential fine for a high tackle.
Haumole Olakau’atu has also been reported twice for high tackles.
Dylan Walker and Corey Waddell both left the field due to injuries, with Walker seen in a sling on the sidelines after failing to reappear for the second half. The Eels are currently grappling with nine players sidelined.
Next week, Parramatta will face the Warriors on Saturday, while Manly will go up against Penrith on Sunday night.
