In a thrilling encounter in Ligue 1, AS Monaco drew 2-2 against Toulouse, a result that significantly hampers their aspirations for qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Les Rouge et Blanc came out firing in this match, immediately putting pressure on the Toulouse defence from the outset.
Just five minutes into the game, Maghnes Akliouche sent a shot towards goal that was expertly tipped over the bar by goalkeeper Guillaume Restes. Monaco didn’t have to wait long for their breakthrough, as Jordan Teze found the net with a header from a fantastic cross by Simon Adingra, marking his first Ligue 1 goal of the season.
With Toulouse’s defence in disarray, Adingra nearly added to Monaco’s tally when his close-range attempt was thwarted by Restes just before the 15-minute mark.
Monaco extended their lead in style on 18 minutes, with Lamine Camara executing a superb finish into the top corner.
Despite not playing at their best, Carles Martinez Novell’s side should have seen their lead reduced midway through the first half, but Jacen Russell-Rowe squandered a golden opportunity by dragging his shot wide from a promising position.

After a rather subdued beginning to the second half, the match reignited shortly after the hour mark when Toulouse found a way back into the contest.
Dayann Methalie delivered a perfectly timed pass across the box to Russell-Rowe, who made no mistake this time, hammering the ball past Lukas Hradecky to bring Toulouse back into contention.
As the game approached its conclusion, it seemed Toulouse would not have enough time to find an equaliser, but Emersonn struck in the 90th minute, scoring a dramatic leveller that sent the home fans into a frenzy.
Les Rouge et Blanc remain in seventh place in Ligue 1, now three points behind fourth-placed Lille OSC, as the end of the season approaches. Meanwhile, Toulouse have climbed into 10th after snapping a three-match losing streak in the league.
