Stacey West, the CEO of Netball Australia, has announced her resignation from the role, coming just a week after the sport secured a significant broadcasting agreement with Nine.
West, who has been at the helm since December 2023, will be succeeded by Mark Falvo, the current CEO of the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027, starting this Monday.
This leadership shift aligns with the sport’s strategic planning as it gears up for both the 2027 Netball World Cup and the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
“Serving in this capacity has truly been a labour of love,” remarked West, reflecting on her 16 years with the organisation.
“My lifelong dedication to the sport, our community, and our athletes has been a privilege, and contributing to our growth and success is something I will always cherish.”

“I pass on the baton at a pivotal moment for the sport, which is set for ongoing success. Suncorp Super Netball continues to break attendance, audience, and membership records.”
“Our new long-term free-to-air broadcasting partnership challenges market norms and is a testament to the fantastic product and the passionate individuals involved in this sport.”
“We are proud to be the leading sport for women and girls, and the support and admiration from the community for both competitive and grassroots participation in our game are the foundation of our culture and success.”

Liz Ellis, Chair of Netball Australia, commended West’s unwavering commitment to the sport and conveyed her confidence in the transition ahead.
“Mark Falvo has taken on the responsibility for leading our two organisations, and I’m confident he will add great value to netball through his vast expertise and in-depth understanding of the Australian and international sports scene,” Ellis stated.
“Stacey and Mark have established a collaborative working relationship, and a positive transition plan is already in place to ensure a smooth handover.”
