Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi will be sidelined for the rest of the season after having surgery on a thigh muscle injury, the Premier League side announced on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old has netted six goals and provided four assists in 43 appearances across all competitions this season, but sustained the injury during Forest’s Europa League quarter-final second-leg triumph over Porto last Thursday.
“Nottingham Forest can confirm that Callum Hudson-Odoi has sustained an injury to his right quadriceps muscle,” the club stated in an announcement.
“After consulting with specialists, the winger underwent surgery today and will begin his rehabilitation with our medical team right away.”
“Callum is anticipated to return to full training during the pre-season, and everyone at the club wishes him a swift recovery.”
Currently, Forest sits 16th in the Premier League with 36 points and five matches still to play, remaining five points above 18th-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the relegation zone.
Next up, Forest will take on 11th-placed Sunderland on Friday, followed by their Europa League semi-final first leg against Aston Villa on April 30th.
