Nigeria will kick off their Unity Cup title defence against Zimbabwe at The Valley, where Charlton Athletic is set to play host for the 2026 tournament in May.
Under the guidance of Eric Chelle, Nigeria triumphed in the 2025 edition, clinching victory over Jamaica through a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout after the match concluded 2-2 at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium in London.
To successfully retain their title, they must first overcome the challenge posed by the Warriors before potentially facing either India or the Reggae Boys at the South London ground.
The tournament makes a return to The Valley, a venue that saw the Super Eagles compete against Jamaica and the Republic of Ireland in a memorable edition which marked the senior international debut of Inter Milan legend Obafemi Martins.

According to Nqobile Magwizi, head of Zimbabwe FA, the Southern African side is looking forward to their inaugural match in England, which will provide the Warriors with exposure to top-tier competition.
