Will Davison, a two-time winner of the Bathurst 1000, has been appointed to the Motorsport Australia Motorsport Risk and Safety Committee (MRSC).
Starting in 2026, Davison will serve a standard three-year term on the MRSC, which concludes in 2028. The committee is dedicated to garnering industry-wide support to foster and secure the future of Australian motorsport.
Joining a team of seasoned professionals, Davison will collaborate with Roland Dane (Chair), Garry Connelly AM, Coral Taylor, Paul Morris, Kristen Bailey, and Adam Berryman, with the backing of Motorsport Australia President Andrew Fraser and the organisation’s senior management.
“Will brings a wealth of experience from competing at the pinnacle of Australian motorsport, making him a valuable addition to the MRSC,” said Motorsport Australia CEO Josh Blanksby.
“His perspective as an active competitor will enhance our dedication to safeguarding participants, officials, and fans alike.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome him to the Committee and are eager to see the positive impact he will make during his tenure.”
Established in 2022, the MRSC aims to identify and lessen the risks associated with motorsport, focusing on continually improving safety for participants, officials, and spectators.
Recently retired from full-time Supercars competition, Davison wrapped up his final season after a remarkable 605 Supercars starts.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to spend over two decades competing at the highest echelon of Australian motorsport, where one truly understands the extensive efforts dedicated to safety; it’s always at the forefront whenever you strap into the car,” Davison remarked.
“Joining the MRSC is a tremendous privilege. Motorsport has significantly progressed throughout my career, particularly regarding safety, and I am passionate about furthering that advancement.”
“I look forward to collaborating with Roland and the rest of the Committee to share my insights and help ensure our sport remains as safe and sustainable as possible for both current and future generations.”
Davison will add to his start tally in 2026 at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend and the Repco Bathurst 1000, serving as a co-driver for Penrite Racing alongside reigning Ryco Enduro Cup Champion Matt Payne. This follows his participation with the team during the 2026 Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
