Parramatta Eels prop Junior Paulo has shared the advantages he’s found following his Lisfranc injury and discussed the transformations taking place at the club.
Paulo sustained the injury during round 18 of last season while observing his team struggle to perform.
The Eels managed to narrowly escape the wooden spoon, winding up in 15th position.
Throughout his recovery and the off-season, Paulo has successfully shed some weight, attributing his drive to his age relative to the younger members of the team.

“I’ve definitely lost a few kilos, and being the oldest on the team means I need to find new ways to keep pace with the younger players,” he told 9News Sydney.
“I had a lot of time to reflect, and while it wasn’t all a walk in the park, if losing a couple of kilos is going to benefit me, I’m all for it.”
The team that Paulo ended the previous season with will look quite different from the one he’ll be playing with in 2025, following significant changes as Jason Ryles takes over as head coach.
Key departures include Clint Gutherson, Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Maika Sivo, and Blaize Talagi, while Zac Lomax, Josh Addo-Carr, and Isaiah Iongi are notable new signings.
Paulo acknowledges that the revamp of the squad was essential.
“Change can be daunting at times, but it was clear that the club needed a fresh start,” he said.
