The commencement time for the Round 14 Ninja A-League encounter between Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory has been postponed to 6pm (AEDT) from the originally scheduled 5pm (AEDT).
In light of the latest weather predictions for Victoria, the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has proactively consulted with both clubs to make the decision to delay the start of Saturday’s Ninja A-League fixture.
As per the APL’s Heat Policy, matches in the A-League may be delayed or postponed if the Ambient Temperature reaches or exceeds 38 degrees Celsius, or if the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) hits 28 degrees Celsius or above. Data from APL’s weather report for ctrl:cyber Pitch on Saturday indicates that both the Ambient Temperature and WBGT are projected to surpass these limits at the original kick-off time of 5:00pm.
Taking this into account, the APL, in collaboration with Melbourne City FC, has decided to shift the kick-off to 6:00pm AEDT to adhere to safety standards as outlined in the policy.
