Legendary mare Winx has enhanced her remarkable legacy by welcoming a new colt, sired by Arrowfield Stud’s Snitzel, early Monday morning.
This exciting news was shared via a post on the official Instagram account dedicated to the champion horse.
Reports suggest that both Winx and her newborn foal are healthy and that the birthing process went smoothly, without any complications.
Since her retirement in 2019, Winx’s journey into breeding has not been without hurdles.
Tragically, her first foal, sired by I Am Invincible, passed away during birth in 2020; however, she successfully gave birth to a healthy filly by Pierro in 2022.
This filly later achieved a record-breaking sale price of $10 million to Woppitt Bloodstock, owned by Winx’s part-owner Debbie Kepitis, at the Easter Yearling Sale held in April.
Snitzel is a renowned multiple champion sire in Australia.
Throughout her illustrious career, Winx achieved 37 victories out of 43 races, including an astounding 25 Group 1 wins, culminating in an unbeaten streak of 33 consecutive races.

Winx remains the only horse to have claimed four consecutive Cox Plates at Mooney Valley, achieving this incredible milestone from 2015 to 2018.
The decision on whether to keep the colt or sell him as a yearling in 2026 has not yet been made by Winx’s ownership group.
Considering the colt’s exceptional pedigree and potential as a stallion, he is likely to command a significant price similar to that of his older half-sister at auction.
With the foaling season coming to a close, it is still uncertain whether Winx will be bred again this spring.
