The renowned Levi sisters have made the decision to leave rugby league behind, opting instead for a significant new contract with Rugby Australia.
Maddison, aged 23, and Teagan, 22, have pledged their commitment to rugby until at least the conclusion of 2028.
This ensures they are on course to don the Australian jersey in rugby sevens at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
Just a month ago, News Corp indicated that the sisters were close to crossing over to the 13-player format by joining the NRLW.
Maddison recently earned the title of 2024 Rugby Sevens Player of the Year and stands out as one of the top tryscorers in the sport.

She currently ranks third on the all-time women’s sevens tryscorers list.
“I’m incredibly thrilled to extend my contract with Rugby Australia and continue my growth as a player alongside this talented group of athletes,” the 23-year-old commented in a statement on Tuesday.

“There’s still so much I aim to achieve in rugby sevens, and committing through to the next Olympics will be instrumental in reaching those aspirations.”
This represents a significant victory for Rugby Australia, which has seen several top women’s players transition to the NRLW in recent times.
“Both Maddi and Teagan are key players in our women’s sevens program and serve as excellent ambassadors for the sport, both domestically and internationally.”
The Australian sevens team will depart for Singapore on Tuesday afternoon in preparation for the third leg of the world sevens season.
