On Sunday, FC Copenhagen achieved their third consecutive win under new manager Bo Svensson, triumphing 4-1 over Vejle. Meanwhile, Fredericia managed to secure a late equaliser in Silkeborg, resulting in a 2-2 draw, and OB comfortably defeated Randers 3-1 in Odense. Additionally, FC Nordsjaelland claimed a crucial 2-1 victory at home against Viborg, solidifying their position in the fight for bronze medals.
After back-to-back wins with new coach Bo Svensson at the helm, FC Copenhagen entered Southern Jutland brimming with confidence, quickly seizing the lead in just four minutes. Mads Emil Madsen delivered a pinpoint cross, allowing the unmarked Andreas Cornelius to tap in from close range and give the visitors an early advantage.
The Copenhagen side totally dominated the early exchanges, and it felt only a matter of time before they would extend their lead. However, against the run of play, Vejle equalised in the 17th minute. A well-placed cross from Andrew Hjulsager found Lasse Flo at the back post, who directed a header past Dominik Kotarski.
Both teams had opportunities to score in the second half, but relentless rain and a poor pitch complicated matters for both squads. FC Copenhagen regained the lead seven minutes from the end when Geovanni Vianney netted his first goal in the Superliga, following a parried shot from Robert that fell kindly to him.
Two minutes from time, Viktor Dadason slipped through Vejle’s offside trap to extend the lead to 3-1, finishing unmarked. In injury time, Geovanni Vianney struck again, sealing the match at 4-1.
In another thrilling encounter, a last-minute goal from Justin Janssen secured a 2-1 victory for FC Nordsjaelland against Viborg in a critical bronze medal clash in Farum. The away team initially looked set to surprise the home side when Charly Nouck found the net from close range, finishing off a move orchestrated by Dorian Junior in the 19th minute.
However, the home side levelled the match 13 minutes later, thanks to a deflected effort from Prince Junior that found its way into the net. After half-time, Viborg appeared sharp and created several chances to regain the lead, but it was Nordsjaelland who snatched all three points in the dying moments. Justin Janssen soared to head in a corner, just as both sides seemed destined for a draw.
Silkeborg IF squandered an opportunity to escape the relegation zone after conceding a two-goal lead, settling for a 2-2 draw against Fredericia. Kent Nielsen’s side had seemed assured of a comfortable win after scoring two quick goals in the first half.
Callum McCowatt opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, his deflected shot catching Fredericia keeper Valdemar Birkso off guard. Just six minutes later, Silkeborg’s top scorer Tonni Adamsen doubled their advantage by finishing a swift move with a close-range effort from William Kirk’s delivery.
However, the visitors clawed their way back 12 minutes from time. Silkeborg’s failure to clear the danger allowed Jonatan Lindekilde to slot the ball past keeper Nicolai Larsen. With the clock winding down, Lindekilde struck again with a well-placed shot from the edge of the area, ensuring both teams shared the spoils.
OB kept their aspirations for seventh place alive with a 3-1 win over Randers at home. Against the run of play, the home side took the lead in the 19th minute when German striker Jona Niemiec expertly controlled a long pass before powering a shot beyond Randers keeper Paul Izzo.
Randers equalised around the hour mark through Cyril Edudzi, who deservedly pulled one back. However, hopes of a comeback were dashed when Leeroy Owusu put OB ahead again in the 71st minute. The home side then secured their lead four minutes from the end, as Marcus McCoy squeezed the ball home amid a crowded box, igniting celebrations among OB’s supporters.
