Harry Kane joined his Bayern Munich teammates for training on Monday, as he prepares for the Champions League quarter-final first-leg against Real Madrid, continuing his recovery from an ankle issue.
The forward sustained the injury while representing England in late March, which led to his withdrawal from last Tuesday’s friendly loss to Japan at Wembley. Bayern’s coach Thomas Tuchel described Kane’s condition as merely a “minor” concern.
Kane was also absent from the Bayern squad for Saturday’s thrilling 3-2 Bundesliga victory over Freiburg.
However, on Monday, he looked positive and lively during a 15-minute training session open to the media at Bayern’s training ground.
Bayern manager Vincent Kompany has stated he will wait until the evening of the match to make a decision on Kane’s inclusion in Tuesday’s clash with Real Madrid.
This season, Kane has been in outstanding form, netting 48 goals across 40 matches in all competitions, which includes 10 goals in nine Champions League fixtures.
