Filipe Luis is said to be in the running to succeed Liam Rosenior at Chelsea following his abrupt dismissal from Brazilian club Flamengo earlier in March.
The 40-year-old enjoyed a stellar year and a half with Flamengo, securing both the league title and the Copa Libertadores during his tenure.
His sacking came as a surprise after Flamengo’s 8-0 victory over Madureira RJ, coinciding with reports that he had been approached by BlueCo for a potential managerial position.
Initially, Filipe Luis believed discussions were underway for him to take over from Enzo Maresca, only to discover later that the position of interest was with Strasbourg, prompting him to withdraw from consideration.
As reported by The Mirror, Filipe Luis, who previously played at Chelsea for a season, is now being considered as a potential new manager for the club.
