England is set to take on Senegal at the City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest, in June, while Wales will make a visit to Wembley in October, the Football Association confirmed on Wednesday.
These two friendly matches round off the Three Lions’ schedule for 2025, as they primarily focus on securing their spot for the upcoming World Cup.
Thomas Tuchel will lead England for his inaugural match next month during World Cup qualifiers at home against Albania and Latvia.
The Euro 2024 finalists will also compete against Serbia and Andorra in their quest for World Cup qualification, with the tournament being hosted in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
The City Ground last welcomed England’s senior men’s team for a competitive match back in March 1909, where they celebrated a 2-0 victory against Wales in the Home Championship.
Senegal will visit Nottingham on June 10, followed by Wales making the short journey to London on October 9.
“The matches against Senegal and Wales will provide us with fantastic challenges against two distinct opponents,” stated Tuchel.
“Competing against a formidable African side in a city renowned for its footballing culture, and then facing a derby at the iconic Wembley; these are significant occasions that will benefit us on our path to the World Cup.”
“I recognise Wembley as our home, but I also appreciate the value of taking the team across the country when possible and the chance to play at a historic venue like the City Ground is something we all eagerly anticipate.”
