Bournemouth’s head coach, Andoni Iraola, is reportedly poised to depart the club when his contract concludes at the end of the season.
The Athletic suggests that Iraola will part ways with the Cherries, despite the club’s efforts to negotiate a contract extension, with the Spaniard frequently mentioned in connection with roles at higher-ranking Premier League clubs.
The report also indicates that Ipswich Town’s manager, Kieran McKenna, is among the frontrunners to take over, with the search for a replacement already in motion.
Having joined Bournemouth in June 2023, Iraola will have completed a three-year term by the time he leaves.
The 43-year-old has garnered acclaim for nurturing several standout talents who have since moved on for substantial transfer fees, including players such as Dean Huijsen, Ilya Zabarnyi, and Antoine Semenyo.
Thanks to his exciting style of play, Bournemouth has cemented its place in the Premier League, consistently finishing in mid-table and achieving commendable results against some of the league’s top teams.
Recently, the Cherries triumphed over league leaders Arsenal with a 2-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium, and they are set to face Newcastle in their next outing.
