In a spirited display, Celta Vigo departed Camp Nou without a point, as Barcelona secured a narrow 1-0 triumph, marking their 17th home victory of the LaLiga campaign and reinforcing their nine-point cushion at the top of the table.
Both teams launched genuine attacking threats within the opening 40 seconds of play, and while the fast-paced action persisted, it resembled more of a frenzied exchange than cohesive football.
Former Barça player Ferran Jutglà squandered a clear opportunity, firing over the bar when faced with Joan García. The hosts suffered a setback when João Cancelo was forced off with an injury just 20 minutes into the match.
Celta seized the initiative in attack, and by the half-hour mark, Barcelona failed to register a single shot on target.
Each time talents like Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres ventured into scoring positions, they were quickly shut down. However, Yamal broke the deadlock by earning a penalty after being brought down by Yoel Lago, which he converted into the bottom corner for his 16th league goal of the season.
Strangely, that was his last involvement in the match, although the nature of his injury remained unclear.
An unrelated hold-up meant that the referee did not signal for half-time until the 68th minute, yet the visitors sprang back into action after the break, with Hugo Álvarez displaying notable tenacity.
Nonetheless, Barcelona soon found their rhythm, and Torres unleashed a stunning volley from a delightful cross by Pedri, only for it to be disallowed following a VAR check.
Credit must go to Celta, who persisted in applying pressure, making it difficult for Barça to maintain their attacking fluidity.
The introduction of Frenkie de Jong seemed to revitalise the home side, but they struggled to seriously test Celta’s goalkeeper, Ionuț Radu.

Ultimately, the result pushed Barcelona’s winning run in LaLiga to eight games and maintained their unbeaten record against Celta over the last six encounters. Celta now find themselves with two defeats in their last 13 away matches, placing them seventh on the ladder.
