PSV, the Eredivisie champions, will heading off for a champions’ getaway to the sunny island of Ibiza, as confirmed by manager Peter Bosz at Wednesday’s press conference.
The schedule for round 31 of the Eredivisie has been adjusted to align with King’s Day, a significant public holiday in the Netherlands. This round will commence on Wednesday and conclude on Saturday, ensuring the police are not overstretched during the vibrant celebrations.
Thanks to the additional days off, PSV has seized the chance to arrange a champions’ holiday in Ibiza. The timing raised a few eyebrows, especially with a pivotal match against rival Ajax set for Saturday, May 2nd.
However, manager Peter Bosz seemed unperturbed, as his PSV side gears up to face PEC Zwolle on Thursday. “The timing has worked out perfectly. We evaluated the football-free weekend and I had already planned for two days off for the squad, which we can now utilise for this,” Bosz remarked in the pre-match press briefing.

“The players needed a chance to bond, especially the internationals who have been going non-stop,” added Bosz.
While he maintained that a standard training schedule will continue, with Tuesday’s session open to fans, the 62-year-old hopes the short break won’t disrupt the players’ momentum.
“It’s a delicate balance in top-tier sport. We aim to manage it accordingly, but for our upcoming match, it might not be a significant factor. With many players heading to the World Cup, it’s crucial they arrive at the tournament in peak condition. We can’t afford to take our eye off the ball; the season is definitely not over for those off to the World Cup.”
The highly anticipated Ajax-PSV clash is scheduled to kick-off at 21:00 CET on Saturday, May 2nd.
