A live television stunt took a scary turn when a journalist was hurled across the studio by an Olympic wrestling champion.
Fox News reporter Abby Hornacek volunteered to participate in a wrestling demonstration on Fox & Friends over the weekend, ultimately finding herself on the receiving end of a full suplex from 22-year-old Kennedy Blades.
The segment was intended to promote an upcoming freestyle wrestling event set to take place in Tampa.

The demonstration commenced with Hornacek expressing she was “so nervous” as they geared up to showcase Blades’ signature move.
Moments later, it was game on.
Blades lifted the 31-year-old reporter and flipped her backwards in a swift motion—causing gasps from onlookers as Hornacek appeared to land much harder than anticipated.

For a brief moment, it appeared as though the situation could have ended much worse.
Hornacek quickly bounced back, rolling through the fall before getting up and laughing off the incident.
“Incredible! I don’t think the wrestling gig is for me,” she remarked, adding, “The microphone pack didn’t survive, but fortunately, I did.”
Though she laughed it off, the impact did catch up with her later.
When she returned to the show the following day, Hornacek revealed she felt as if she’d been “squared in the middle.”

“It was insane… I felt like I was being elevated off a skyscraper,” she recalled.
Despite the online backlash, she stood up for Blades, a rising talent in wrestling who secured silver at the Paris Olympics, insisting that the wrestler was not at fault.
“I want to clarify because I’ve received a lot of comments suggesting that Kennedy put me in danger. She truly didn’t,” Hornacek stated, also praising the athlete as a “genuine professional.”
Hornacek mentioned that she attempted to prepare by watching videos of the move beforehand, though it didn’t really make a difference once she was airborne.
“… Even when viewed in slow motion, it doesn’t make any sense,” she commented, noting that being of similar height might have complicated the execution. “I think that’s why I was nearly hitting my head.”
