Arsenal striker Kai Havertz (25) will be sidelined for the remainder of the season and will require surgery after sustaining a hamstring injury during training, the Premier League club announced on Thursday.
“We can confirm that Kai Havertz suffered a hamstring injury in a training session in Dubai last week,” Arsenal stated in an official release.
“Following thorough assessments and consultations with specialists, it has been determined that the injury necessitates surgical intervention, which is scheduled to occur in the coming days.
“Shortly after the surgery, Kai will embark on his recovery and rehabilitation programme, which is anticipated to carry over into the pre-season preparations for the next season.”
Havertz, who is the club’s leading scorer this season with 15 goals across all competitions, will join a growing list of Arsenal forwards who are currently injured, which includes Gabriel Jesus (anterior cruciate ligament), and both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli (hamstring injuries).
