Alamara Djabi, a 19-year-old midfielder for FC Midtjylland, faced life-threatening injuries following a stabbing incident in Herning on Sunday. The club has confirmed that he has undergone two surgeries and is currently in a stable condition, as stated on their official website.
“The FC Midtjylland player, aged 19, sustained serious injuries from the stabbing and has stabilised following two surgical procedures. He has emerged from an induced coma and is doing as well as can be expected given the circumstances. FC Midtjylland is actively communicating and cooperating with the relevant authorities while providing support to him and his family,” the club noted on its website.
The club described the attack as extremely severe.
“Alamara Djabi was in critical danger and required emergency surgery. Following another operation and the professional efforts of rescue teams and hospital staff, he is now in stable condition. He has woken up from an induced coma and is progressing positively given the circumstances,” they added.
Originating from Guinea-Bissau, Djabi is close friends with Superliga top scorer Franculino, and both were signed by the club in 2023.
Djabi has made two appearances for FC Midtjylland’s first team, with his latest match being during the final qualifying round for the Europa League, where he came off the bench in the latter stages against Finnish side KuPS in August 2025.
As of Monday afternoon, the Central and West Jutland Police began searching for a 20-year-old named Moussa Habib Jensen in relation to the stabbing incident involving the FC Midtjylland player.
As of Tuesday morning, Jensen remains unaccounted for, according to police reports.
“He is still at large. The search has not produced the desired results, and we continue our investigation,” remarked Susanne Kiel Nielsen, police commissioner of the investigation department within the local Herning police.
