Juventus secured a 2-1 win against Lecce at the Allianz Stadium, temporarily rising to third place in Serie A (SA) and maintaining an impressive home record this season with only one loss in 17 outings.
Since taking over from Thiago Motta, new Juventus manager Igor Tudor has made a positive start in Turin, registering one win and one draw from his initial two fixtures.
The Bianconeri have struggled to find the back of the net recently, failing to score more than once in each of their last four SA matches, which may have weighed on Tudor’s mind. However, he needn’t have worried, as his side produced an outstanding attacking display in the first half.
They took less than two minutes to open the scoring, with Dušan Vlahović threading a pass through to Teun Koopmeiners, who struck low into the corner, leaving Wladimiro Falcone with no chance.

In reaction, Lecce came close with Nikola Krstović’s deflected shot hitting the post, and the forward also had a shot saved by Michele Di Gregorio. However, that marked their final genuine chance of the half as Juventus seized complete control.
Vlahović had an opportunity to double the lead before the 10-minute mark, and even though there was a brief lull in the game, the home side found their rhythm again in the last 15 minutes of the first half.
Shortly after Manuel Locatelli’s attempt was caught by Falcone, a brilliant team move from Juve saw them extend their lead. Multiple players combined to set up Kenan Yıldız, who finished expertly to put Tudor’s side in a dominant position. Had it not been for a stunning save from Falcone from a shot by Lloyd Kelly, Juve could have been three goals clear before half-time.
In the second half, Juve couldn’t maintain the same intensity as Lecce began to exert more influence on the match.
Nonetheless, creating chances to test Di Gregorio was difficult for Lecce, and Federico Baschirotto’s header over the bar was their only notable effort early in the half.
Andrea Cambiaso for Juve, who scored in the away fixture against Lecce earlier this season, came close with a shot, but Falcone was equal to the task.
Baschirotto did manage to pull a goal back late in the match with a well-placed header, but Juventus held on to secure the victory and strengthen their ambitions for UEFA Champions League qualification—especially with rivals Atalanta and Bologna set to clash on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Lecce finds themselves just two points clear of the relegation zone, having not won in their last nine outings, marking yet another setback in their battle to remain among the top tier.
