Danish international Jonas Wind, who plays for Bundesliga club Wolfsburg, will be sidelined for an extended period due to a new muscle injury sustained during training, as confirmed by coach Dieter Hecking during a press conference on Thursday.
“The outlook for Jonas Wind is not promising. He will be out for quite some time as he’s suffered yet another muscle injury,” he stated, as reported on Wolfsburg’s X profile.
The Danish forward has been frequently hampered by injuries, having only returned to full fitness just over a month ago following a lengthy absence.
In November, he underwent surgery on a damaged thigh muscle, and it appears this issue has resurfaced, according to reports from Wolfsburger Allgemeine.
Wind managed to score his first goal in 330 days during the match against Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend.
This season, Wind has featured in 11 matches for a struggling Wolfsburg side, who find themselves facing the threat of relegation from the German Bundesliga.
