Brazilian goalkeeper Matheus Magalhaes (32) is reportedly set to depart Portuguese club Braga after spending 11 seasons there, with Braga and Ajax having reached an agreement for a loan deal.
The Dutch publication De Telegraaf shared the news on Sunday evening, shortly after Ajax secured a 2-1 victory over Feyenoord in the Klassieker.
Even though he had offers from clubs in Brazil, Matheus has chosen to move to Ajax on loan, which includes a purchase option for a reported fee of €3 million.
Ajax initiated the search for a new backup goalkeeper after reportedly coming to an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of German keeper Diant Ramaj, valued at approximately €5 million.
During his time at Braga, the 32-year-old Brazilian made 372 appearances and achieved four major honours, including two Portuguese Cups and two League Cups.
