Wolfsburg midfielder and Danish international playmaker Christian Eriksen has expressed his desire to continue representing the Danish national team, with aspirations to lead Denmark to qualification for the 2028 European Championships.
Christian Eriksen is keen on remaining a part of the Danish national squad, with the aim of securing Denmark’s place in the European Championship set for 2028, as he shared in an interview with Viaplay.
“I still feel like a significant member of the national team. Naturally, the future is always uncertain, but qualifying for the European Championship in 2028 remains a clear objective for me. Absolutely.”
Eriksen admits he has pondered the possibility of stepping back from international duties.
“Sometimes, you might wrestle with these thoughts. Yet, you always return to that love for representing Denmark – and when given the chance to don the national jersey again, it’s something you want to pursue.”
“We’ll need to assess where things stand down the line, and I plan to discuss it with national coach Brian Riemer to hear his perspective,” Eriksen states, noting that he remains ready if Riemer calls upon him.
With an impressive record, Eriksen has capped 149 times for Denmark.
