Inter Milan extended their lead at the top of Serie A to nine points, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to secure a thrilling 4-3 victory over Como, marking their 11th consecutive top-flight head-to-head win.
The Nerazzurri made the short trip north, aiming to seize a significant advantage in their quest to reclaim the Scudetto, especially after Napoli’s earlier draw with Parma. Como, on the other hand, were keen to pursue their own ambitions of reaching the UEFA Champions League for the first time, and they began the match brightly, with Denzel Dumfries and Francesco Acerbi coming up with vital last-minute blocks to thwart efforts from Anastasios Douvikas and Alex Valle.
The Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia erupted in celebration when Valle broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, scoring his first senior goal by superbly converting a loose ball after Yann Sommer deflected Nico Paz’s initial shot into his path.
Just before half-time, Paz added to Como’s tally, controlling a long pass from Jean Butez, shifting his body position, and striking a phenomenal left-footed shot that clipped in off the upright.
However, Inter managed to reduce the deficit in a dramatic conclusion to the first half when Marcus Thuram skillfully found the net with an improvised first-time finish from Nicolo Barella’s cross.

Como’s misfortunes continued when Thuram found the net again just four minutes into the second half, erasing their two-goal advantage. Barella delivered another pinpoint assist, setting up the Frenchman, who expertly lobbed Butez, caught out of position.
The comeback was completed just two minutes short of the hour mark when Dumfries headed in from Hakan Calhanoglu’s free-kick at the far post, showcasing the champions’ mentality from the visitors.
Como were not ready to concede, however, and Sommer made an important save, pushing away a tricky set-piece from Paz.
Crucially, Cristian Chivu’s team struck again, demoralising Cesc Fabregas’ side. Manuel Akanji controlled Calhanoglu’s searching delivery and set up Dumfries for his second goal, sealing all three points for Inter.
Though the Biancoblu claimed a late consolation when Lucas Da Cunha slotted away a penalty after Ange-Yoan Bonny was penalised for a foul on Paz.
This victory feels pivotal for Chivu’s squad, who seem to be regaining their stride in the chase for a 21st top-flight title, having now secured ten wins in their last twelve away league matches.
On the flip side, this defeat for Como ended an eight-match unbeaten streak across all competitions (W5, D3), as they missed the chance to break into the top four, suffering their sixth league loss of the season.
