Seventeen-year-old Danish forward Chido Obi-Martin might make his debut for Manchester United today as they take on Tottenham Hotspur in North London.
The young striker was absent from the Under-18 match on Saturday, sparking speculation that he could be included in the first team for Sunday’s Premier League encounter against Spurs.
It’s now confirmed that the promising teenager has travelled with the senior squad to London, positioning him to possibly make his debut for ‘The Red Devils’.
This match could see up to four Danish players representing Manchester United on Sunday.
Christian Eriksen, Rasmus Højlund, and new recruit Patrick Dorgu are all part of the travelling party.
This week, Ruben Amorim disclosed that Chido Obi-Martin has already had the opportunity to train with the first team.
Kobbie Mainoo will be unavailable due to injury, while Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer are also doubtful after sustaining knocks.
Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, and Jonny Evans are also out, which could provide Chido Obi-Martin with a surprise opportunity to impress against Tottenham.
Having joined from Arsenal in October, Chido Obi-Martin has made an immediate impact in United’s youth teams, scoring nine goals in just eight matches for the Under-18 squad.
